Rock Ferry Trig Hill Tempranillo 2016 - 6 pack

Tasting Note: This Tempranillo has vibrant aromas of earth, leather and dark berry fruits. The palate has notes of cassis, blackberries and plum. This is supported by a concentrated palate with ripe, supple tannins and a finish framed by toasty oak.

The wine was drained into 500 L French puncheons ( 25% new , 20 % 1 year old and remainder older seasoned oak) where it underwent MLF the following spring and matured in oak for a total of 19 months prior to racking and bottling.

5 stars – Michael Cooper

“Certified organic, the classy 2016 vintage was estate-grown at Bendigo, in Central Otago, fermented with indigenous yeasts, and matured for 18 months in French oak puncheons (25 per cent new). Powerful but refined, it is deeply coloured and fragrant, with fresh, dense blackcurrant, red berry, plum and spice flavours, showing good complexity, firm, ripe tannins and the structure to mature well for many years. Best drinking 2021+.” – Michael Cooper
